Freedom of Expression

Freedom of Expression
By Joseph Cogavin, Garbally College

Freedom of expression should be no problem,
But when can we draw the lines?
Is it possible we are hypocrites?
For we don’t want to hear conflicting viewpoints,
But doesn’t everyone have the right
To freedom of expression,
Or does Ireland not respect that?
Or is it the case
That freedom of expression has never
Or will never exist?

Freedom of Speech
By Feidhlim Dervin, Garbally College

I can talk loud and clear
Nobody can stop me
I can voice my opinions
I am one of the lucky ones
Not all can do what I can
And I am grateful for that.

Freedom of Speech
By Rory Dervin, Garbally College

Censorship is a crime
Freedom of expression is a human right
Raul Rivero and many alike did time
All for just speaking their mind
Still in the eyes of many
Freedom of expression is still a crime

Freedom of Speech
By Eamonn Noone, Garbally College

Freedom – something which is everything
For without freedom we have nothing
Except our freedom of thought.

Freedom of Expression
By Michael Goode, Garbally College

Poetry is freedom
Freedom is poetry
Poetry is art and freedom must be allowed
Everyone must be heard
Unless someone ordinary is offended.
Without freedom of expression poetry is dead
Poetry must come from the heart
And if it does not
It is simply not poetry.

Freedom
By Thomas Kelly, Garbally College

Free speech, ya right!
An oppressed minority
Speaking out against
The will of authority,
Censorship imposed
On the thoughts of a person.
Where is the freedom in that?
